Bruce the Bunyip

Bruce lives deep in the muddy swamps on the edge of Ol' Gum Gully, far away from busy tracks and curious visitors.

Solitary and grumpy, Bruce much prefers his own company to noisy Bushies wandering through his part of the world

Over the years, the kids of Ol' Gum Gully have turned Bruce into something of a legend. Stories are told of mysterious growls in the fog and strange glowing eyes after sunset. Of course, every story seems to become bigger each time it’s told.

Truth be told, Bruce mostly just wants to be left alone with his beloved Barb. Beneath all the grumbling and glaring, there may be a softer side to Bruce... though very few Bushies have ever stayed around long enough to find out.

Barb the Bunyip

Barb has a temper famous throughout Ol' Gum Gully and a mighty roar that can send birds fluttering from the treetops. If Bruce prefers silence, Barb prefers making sure everyone knows exactly how she feels.

Bush kids whisper stories about Barb stomping through the swamp in terrible moods, splashing muddy water high into the air whenever somebody gets too close.

Bruce has always understood Barb better than anyone. Life in the swamp suits her perfectly... peaceful, quiet and free from bothersome visitors.

And if anyone dares disturb Bruce? Well... that’s usually when Barb becomes truly frightening.
