When the creek runs cold and the mist settles low, Paulie is already in the water… paddling patiently for hours as he hunts for yabbies beneath the reeds.
A natural swimmer and skilled hunter, Paulie moves through the river with calm confidence, teaching the Bushies that strength doesn’t need to be loud.
Paulie leads by example. Perseverance, care and respect for the bush are simply part of how he lives, on the water and at home.
Though he may seem serious at first glance, he has a kind heart and a deep love for his family. To the Bushies, he’s a trusted provider, a gentle guide and a reassuring presence in the waterways of Ol' Gum Gully.
Mrs. Petunia Platypus
Mrs. Petunia Platypus is the nurturing heart of the Platypus family, patient by nature and quietly determined when something matters.
She loves the peaceful rhythm of life by the creek and treasures time spent with her family. Petunia is passionate about protecting the waterways around Ol' Gum Gully, helping keep them healthy and teaching young Bushies about caring for the creek and the creatures that call it home.
Petunia may have a soft smile, but she is determined when it comes to protecting the creek and supporting the Bushies who depend on it. Her work helps ensure Ol' Gum Gully remains a wonderful place to call home.
Master Paddy Platypus
Paddy Platypus is a fun-loving kid with a big smile and an even bigger love for the water.
He's a great listener and keen learner, often found swimming alongside his dad, Paulie, carefully watching and practising his hunting skills beneath the surface of the creek.
A natural in the water, Paddy can paddle for hours with ease, darting between reeds and rocks with confidence well beyond his years.
His dedication paid off when he proudly earned the title of Ol' Gum Gully Junior Swimming Champion... a moment that made him and his family incredibly proud.
Back on dry land, he's often kicking a ball around with Eddie, Lachie, Dash and Andy.

Miss. Poppy Platypus
Poppy Platypus is a fearless little adventurer with a determined attitude.
She’s happiest outdoors, splashing through the creek or exploring hidden corners of the Ol’ Gum Gully waterways. Along the creek banks, Poppy has a habit of making friends with just about every creature she meets.
A rope swing, muddy bank or fallen log is usually enough to get her moving. Poppy likes testing herself and will keep at something until she gets it.
Small in size but big on courage, she rarely hesitates when there’s something new to try. For Poppy, muddy feet usually mean the day is going well.
